On the internet, they found a photo of a child who survived the earthquake in Haiti last January, traced and painted it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJohn Tallman has been my professor for three out of the four drawing classes that I have had at UTC and he has pushed and worked with me to become a better artist,\u201d said Hysinger.  \u201cSince we had to use text with our project, I suggested we add a Bible verse to show our ideas with our art. We used Exodus 9:16, to show that this child was spared for a purpose,\u201d said Hysinger.<\/p>\n<p>The entire piece also included two additional panels depicting hands reaching in to aid the child, but space limitations prohibited using them.  The middle panel hung in the UC is clearly the focal point\u2014art with a purpose, according to the students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an honor to have it up there, it\u2019s amazing,\u201d said Hysinger.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A portion of a painting created by two graphic design students has been mounted on the wall outside the Chattanooga Room of the University Center.
