Standing, left to right, Haley Solomon, Rob Beckett and Alexis Smith with WUTC, Abbey Markus, Chattanooga Area Food Bank, Richard Winham, Bryan Lane, Dennis Parker and Ray Bassett, all with WUTC, and Shelley Armstrong, far right, Chattanooga Area Food Bank.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When listeners of WUTC-FM heard \u201cone can make a difference\u201d during these challenging times, so many of them came forward to support their local public radio station\u2014and to help feed people in need in their own communities.<\/p>\n<p>On Sept. 15, WUTC\u2019s listeners donated more than $25,000 to their National Public Radio station, part of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, during its One-Day Pledge Event in partnership with the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. For nearly two weeks afterward, listeners gave an additional $5,000 online for a total of $30,000.<\/p>\n<p>Under the partnership, WUTC has contributed $3,000\u201410 percent of the total\u2014to the Food Bank.
