With participation from the University of Tennessee Music Division, a concert that highlights the value of music through the collaboration of science, art and therapy now is available on the web.<\/p>\n

The entire Power of Music<\/a> concert can be seen on YouTube through July 1. During the COVID-19 pandemic, music has provided an escape, a refuge and a source of education during the COVID-19 pandemic, concert organizers said.<\/p>\n

“Music is essential to human experience, but most people are generally unaware of the vast advances that have recently been developed in science-based music therapy practices,” they said.<\/p>\n

Musicians taking part in the concert are tenor Richard Cox, pianist Martha Summa-Chadwick and violinist Mark Reneau.<\/p>\n

In addition to the concert, a panel of experts<\/a> discusses the power of music across such areas as, among others, therapy, education and community connections.<\/p>\n

Panel members are:<\/p>\n
