Whether it’s gathered around a holiday table or from the cozy comfort of an on-campus apartment for one, many members of the University community will find themselves reflecting this week on what there is to be grateful for in 2021.<\/p>\n

We asked students, faculty and staff from across campus to share their thankful thoughts. Here’s what they said:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe word I always use is ‘home.’ Home, to me, is not a building, it\u2019s the people in it. So I\u2019m thankful for the people in my life, be it really close friends, my chosen family, my given family. I know this can sound kind of odd, but the people I work with are really close to me, and they\u2019re very dear to me, too. So being able to have people in your life that are reliable and helpful and are willing to be there for you, I\u2019m thankful for that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Caleb:<\/em><\/strong> \u201cWhat I\u2019m thankful for is first off, God. He is the one that blessed me with health and strength each and every day. I\u2019m also thankful for both of my parents, my brothers and sister, my girlfriend and my entire family who are all my supporting system. I\u2019m absolutely thankful and grateful for UTC as well because they took me and my brothers in and welcomed us with open arms as family. I\u2019m grateful to be a part of an amazing university.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Since I stayed, I got to work on the EPB mural project, I met my boyfriend, and I got a really awesome internship at the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce.
