The new dock sits on the Tennessee River.<\/p><\/div>\n

For the first time, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga students can rent sit-on-top kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and canoes right next to the water.<\/p>\n

Opening May 3, a newly finished dock now sits on the Tennessee River next to Scrappy Moore Field. It replaces an aging dock that previously was available only to the UTC rowing team.<\/p>\n

“People can just come down and say, ‘Hey, I want to take a paddleboard out for an hour’ and launch right here, go paddling and bring it back,” said Lisa Hancock, coordinator for outdoors for UTC Campus Recreation.<\/p>\n

To rent equipment, you must be a Campus Recreation<\/a> member.<\/p>\n

The dock’s hours of operation, rental fees and other information can be found at UTC Campus Recreation Waterfront<\/a>.<\/p>\n
