The forum, titled \u201cAesthetic Learningscapes \u2013 Exploring Elegant Environments,\u201d will bring together educators, artists, and professionals from diverse disciplines to explore the changing environments in which students learn.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe intersection of social, cultural, technological, and economic factors in today\u2019s world urges us to consider dynamic classrooms, a broader curriculum, and a more cohesive vision for learning,\u201d Kim Wheetley, Executive Director of the SCEA and Lyndhurst Chair of Excellence in Arts Education, said.<\/p>\n<p>The forum will feature participatory interaction over passive listening. \u201cTeachers are no longer content to sit and listen,\u201d Wheetley said. \u201cThey want a more in-depth experience than a traditional conference. They want to interact with others on problems and find solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Participants will collaborate with team building exercises at the UTC Challenger Learning Center and work together to design a learning environment to present to everyone at the end of the forum. Participants also will visit sites around Chattanooga, including CreateHere, the Creative Discovery Museum, and Battle Academy for Teaching and Learning, to explore the diversity of educational spaces and community partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>Click <a title=\"SCEA form\" href=\"http:\/\/www.utc.edu\/Outreach\/SCEA\/2011Forum.php\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> for detailed information, the schedule, and a registration form are available on the SCEA website. The registration fee includes a reception, two continental breakfasts, and two luncheons. Registrations are due by March 31.
