Dr. Gene Ezell, UTNAA professor, Health and Human Performance, will be inducted as a 2008 Fellow in the North American Society of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport and Dance Professionals.<\/p>\n
Established in 1999, the North American Society (NAS) recognizes outstanding professionals from within the allied professions of health education, physical education, recreation, sport and dance in North America.<\/p>\n
In a letter of invitation to Ezell, Jan Adair, 2008 NAS Chair, said \u201cyour induction as a 2008 Fellow represents our recognition of your accomplishments, but most importantly, your contributions to our professions.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ezell was selected as United States Best College Health Educator of the Year by the American Association of Health Education. He was named Scholar of the Year by the Southern District Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and he was appointed United States’ delegate to 12th World Congress on Health Education by AAHPERD, Dublin, Ireland. He was nominated as Amateur Athlete of Year, 1995, to the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n
His research interests include health education, specifically HIV\/AIDS Prevention Education. Ezell has written or co-written 15 books in health education. He has directed and evaluated more than 30 grants with total funding of over $5 million.<\/p>\n
Ezell said he is \u201chumbled and honored\u201d to be selected as a 2008 Fellow by the NAS, noting this is \u201cone of the highest honors given by the Health and Physical Education profession.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
