The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga raised $14,113,826 from 6,100 donors during the fiscal year 2023, exceeding the University\u2019s fundraising goal by more than $3 million. This fundraising total represents a 38% increase from the previous fiscal year and a 115% increase from two years prior in dollars raised to support students, faculty and staff.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs Chattanooga\u2019s university, we are so thankful to our partners and supporters for seeing the value in investing in UTC,\u201d UTC Vice Chancellor for Advancement Kim White said. \u201cAlong with our incredible team, this growth in dollars and donors will allow more students to graduate with real-world skills employers value. While it was a phenomenal year, there are still many needs of our students and campus to be met through philanthropy.\u201d<\/p>\n
In addition to the past year\u2019s overall success, Mocs Give Day in October resulted in $1,209,301 raised from 1,475 donors in 24 hours. Debuting in 2020, Mocs Give Day is an annual one-day fundraising event, and the 2022 Mocs Give Day is the most successful to-date by almost $1 million.<\/p>\n
With gifts as small as $5, the 6,100 total donors represent an increase of more than 9% from the previous fiscal year and a 36% increase in young alumni giving. Alumni were also the largest group of donors to UTC for the fiscal year representing more than $4.4 million in gifts.<\/p>\n
In addition to dollars raised and the number of donors, UTC engaged 44,793 alumni, a 16% increase from the previous fiscal year\u2014the highest percentage increase for any campus in the UT system.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt UTC, we strive to engage students and inspire change. To see a large group of alumni and donors who see that hard work and support it with their time, talent and treasure is moving,\u201d said UTC Chancellor Steven R. Angle. \u201cThe work the UTC Advancement team does to build connections to our University and inspire generosity for the work that happens here is transformational for our students.\u201d<\/p>\n
UTC Athletics had a record-breaking year raising more than $800,000 for Mocs Club, the annual and priority fund for the department, which was a 13% increase from the previous year in addition to raising almost $3.9 million total, which is also a record and growth of nearly 18% from the previous year.<\/p>\n
Support for the College of Health, Education and Professional Studies was the highest in the last decade, demonstrating the critical role of nurses, health professionals and educators in addressing our region\u2019s most significant challenges.<\/p>\n
Estate bequests were also impactful for the year with the UTC Library receiving one of its most significant gifts in recent years from the Estate of Pamela Brock, a 1974 alumna.<\/p>\n
