A few large rolling carts were put to work on the morning of Friday, Jan. 5, at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, carrying the belongings of students moving into their residence halls.<\/p>\n

Spring move-in, a precursor to the start of the spring semester, is appointment-only, making it much less busy than the fall semester move-in.<\/p>\n

Most students are returning to the rooms they left vacant over winter break, only bringing back their essentials.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s more just the small things really, because all I took home was clothes, shoes and my Xbox,\u201d said Anthony Copeland, a freshman American politics student from East Ridge who is moving back to Boling Apartments for the spring semester.<\/p>\n

Those moving in on Friday agreed that they were ready to go back, as they chose some of the earliest move-in times.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just wanted to go ahead and get settled in quickly,\u201d Copeland said. \u201cI really want to chill in my dorm for a bit so that way I can get back into the groove.\u201d<\/p>\n

Two friends and roommates returning to their rooms in Johnson Obear Apartments agreed that this move-in session was quite easy.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s colder and calmer,\u201d said junior social work major Maria Camargo.<\/p>\n

Senior Madison Johnson, a graphic design major, said one significant benefit is the parking availability.<\/p>\n

They both expressed their Mocs experiences have been nothing but positive after transferring from Cleveland State Community College. They were ready to get back, get organized and see their friends.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have met so many people here,\u201d Camargo said.<\/p>\n

Sophia Bullington, a freshman psychology student returning to West Campus housing, also felt eager to return to her room after spending her break at home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Compared to the hustle and bustle of fall move-in, this time was a bit more relaxed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not as exhilarating,\u201d Bullington said, \u201cbut I\u2019m more excited to be back than nervous.\u201d<\/p>\n
