Photo courtesy of UT-ORII.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>On Friday, Feb. 23, a University of Tennessee at Chattanooga group\u2014consisting of faculty, staff and student Jannat Saeed\u2014visited the UT-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the trip was to increase awareness of ORNL\u2019s facilities, equipment and resources to enhance collaboration between UTC faculty and researchers at ORNL.<\/p>\n<p>The UTC contingent met with ORNL researchers and UT-ORII leadership, including Interim Executive Director David Sholl, to explore potential avenues of collaboration in areas such as modeling, computational science, and biomedical and health data sciences.<\/p>\n<p>The group also toured the Department of Energy\u2019s Spallation Neutron Source, Manufacturing Demonstration Facility and other ORNL facilities.<\/p>\n<p>UTC site visit participants included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wolday Abrha, assistant professor, Engineering Management and Technology<\/li>\n<li>Hannah Archer, project manager, UTC Research Institute<\/li>\n<li>Meredith Barbee, assistant professor, Chemistry and Physics<\/li>\n<li>Murat Barisik, assistant professor, Mechanical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Jejal-Reddy Bathi, assistant professor, Civil Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Tomojit Ghosh, assistant professor, Computer Science and Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Roland Howell, lecturer, Computer Science and Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Erkan Kaplanoglu, department head, Engineering Management and Technology<\/li>\n<li>Thien Le, assistant professor, Mathematics<\/li>\n<li>Deborah Mullen, Greg A.
