<\/strong>The UTC Cress Gallery of Art will present the works of Wendy White from October 11 to December 2. All events and the exhibition are open to the public and free of charge. The gallery hours are 9:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Monday \u2013 Friday and 1 p.m. \u2013 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Cress Gallery of Art is located in the lobby of the UTC Fine Arts Center. This exhibition is part of the Diane Marek Visiting Artist Series. <\/p>\n

White will give her artist\u2019s lecture on Tuesday, October 11 at 5:30 p.m. in room 356 of the UTC Fine Arts Center. The lecture will be followed by an opening reception that begins at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

In her 6 Years \/ 6 Works<\/em> show, White fuses painting, sculpture, and architectural reference into large scale, multi-paneled, and sensitively composed explosions of color and mark.\u00a0 This exhibition features large works dating between 2006 and 2011 tracking White\u2019s development and emergence as a prominent figure contributing to the revitalized course of painting and abstraction in the 21st<\/sup> Century.<\/p>\n

White received a BFA (1993) from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, Georgia with a concentration in fibers and an MFA (2003) in painting from the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, New Jersey. She currently serves on the faculty of Mason Gross School of the Arts.<\/p>\n
