The school now has a 100% first time pass rate on the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Certification Exam. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The CRNA certification exam is a three-hour exam required for all registered nurses who plan to go into nurse anesthesia practice. Approximately one-third of the exam tests the knowledge on all of the body systems including anatomy and physiology as well as disease states. The remainder of the exam covers basic procedures and possible complications from administering anesthesia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur pass rate is due to the constant attention from our nursing faculty. Our faculty work tirelessly to assure student learning and engagement in excellence occurs,\u201d Dr. Kay Lindgren, UTC Director of the School of Nursing said.<\/p>\n<p>The University offers a 27-month program in Master\u2019s in Science of Nursing: Nurse Anesthesia. The program features rigorous coursework with bountiful clinical experiences to prepare students for the national certification exam. Once certified, students who earn their MSN in Nurse Anesthesia from UTC may begin work immediately as a CRNA, without the need for additional on-the-job training or work-related orientation.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The UTC School of Nursing can add another accomplishment on their growing list of achievements this year.
