According to Ratchford, \u201cDr. Bumphus was the ideal chair. In addition to being a Military Police veteran, Dr. Bumphus coordinates the prestigious Southeast Command and Leadership Academy and has served as a mentor to the police department as we grow.\u201d Other members of the selection committee included Dean Tara Mathis, Ms. Sara Peters, Assistant Director Mary Jean Broyles, and Chattanooga Police Deputy Chief Mike Williams (retired).<\/p>\n<p>Boe is a U.S. Army veteran, who has amassed an impressive training profile, holds a degree in Secondary Education, and has twelve\u00a0 years of progressively responsible experience in local law enforcement. Most recently, he served as a shift supervisor for Polk County Police Department in Cedartown, Georgia. Prior to entering law enforcement, Boe served as a nine years as a firefighter for the city of Carrollton, Georgia.
