{"id":62317,"date":"2024-09-30T07:28:37","date_gmt":"2024-09-30T11:28:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogarchive.utc.edu\/news\/?p=62317"},"modified":"2024-11-22T09:11:40","modified_gmt":"2024-11-22T14:11:40","slug":"all-roads-lead-here-power-c-tour-offers-prospective-students-glimpse-into-life-at-utc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogarchive.utc.edu\/news\/2024\/09\/all-roads-lead-here-power-c-tour-offers-prospective-students-glimpse-into-life-at-utc\/","title":{"rendered":"All roads lead here: Power C Tour offers prospective students glimpse into life at UTC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe title=\"Power C Tour 2024\" style=\"max-width: 100%;\"style=\"max-width: 100%;\"src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8iaylp6MLdg?rel=0&#038;modestbranding=1&#038;autohide=1&#038;showinfo=0&#038;controls=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga\u2019s Power C Tour, a statewide outreach effort to prospective students on academic programs, admissions, housing, financial aid and campus life at UTC, is set to hit the road.<\/p>\n<p>The third annual Power C Tour\u2014with stops in Memphis (Thursday, Oct. 3), Knoxville (Wednesday, Oct. 23), Nashville (Monday, Oct. 28) and Chattanooga (Wednesday, Nov. 13)\u2014gives local high school students, transfers, graduate students and their families a feel for UTC.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives from the academic colleges, student services and the UTC leadership team\u2014plus current students and mascot Scrappy\u2014will be on hand at each event to answer questions and make connections in a friendly, relaxed environment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>===================================================<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Students and their families should visit <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.utc.edu\/enrollment-management-and-student-affairs\/admissions\/special-events\/power-c-tour\"><strong><em>utc.edu\/power-c-tour<\/em><\/strong><\/a><em> to register.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>===================================================<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe aim to connect with students where they are, providing them with a glimpse into the thriving campus life, exceptional academic opportunities and the supportive community that defines UTC,\u201d said Dr. Artanya Wesley, vice chancellor for enrollment management and student affairs. \u201cWe want prospective students to see firsthand why UTC is a place where they can blossom, grow and achieve their dreams.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>UTC recently announced that this fall\u2019s enrollment figure of 11,775 was the largest in school history.\u00a0For the second consecutive year, UTC welcomed a record number of first-year students. The freshman class of 2,473 was an increase of 4.8% from last fall\u2019s then-record 2,359.<\/p>\n<p>The Power C Tour will feature presentations, information booths, light refreshments and cool prizes, including an opportunity to win UTC scholarships.<\/p>\n<p>Qualified seniors will receive the chance to get admitted to UTC on the spot\u2014with no application fee. In order to be accepted in a \u201cMoc Minute,\u201d prospective students must meet stated admissions requirements (2.85 GPA with an 18 ACT or a 2.5 GPA with a 21 ACT). Students are asked to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete and submit an online application at <a href=\"https:\/\/webapp.utc.edu\/apply\/\"><strong>utc.edu\/apply<\/strong><\/a> at least 48 hours before the Power C event.<\/li>\n<li>Ask their school counselor to print their transcript and put it in a sealed envelope to bring to the event\u2014or email it to <a href=\"mailto:transcripts@utc.edu\"><strong>transcripts@utc.edu<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Bring a printed copy or photocopy of their ACT or SAT scores.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Through its four academic colleges and graduate school, UTC offers 48 bachelor\u2019s degrees with 118 program concentrations, 25 graduate certificate programs, 23 master\u2019s degree programs with 49 program concentrations,
