Prospective student Ayden Keylon received the chance to get admitted to UTC in a \u201cMoc Minute\u201d during the Power C Tour visit.<\/p><\/div>\n

The third annual University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Power C Tour returned home on Wednesday, Nov. 13, making its last stop at the UTC Aquatics and Recreation Center, where prospective students got the chance to learn about academic programs, admissions, housing, financial aid and campus life at UTC.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Power C Tour, a state wide effort designed to introduce high school students, transfer students, graduate students and their families to UTC, previously made stops in Memphis, Knoxville and Nashville. Along the way, students had opportunities to connect with academic representatives, student services, campus leaders, current students and mascot Scrappy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The four tour stops attracted 1,081 total students, parents and guests. Of the 439 students who attended, more than 40% (179) were admitted to UTC in a \u201cMoc Minute,\u201d an initiative allowing qualified high school seniors to apply for free to the University at the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

Along with presentations, information booths and light refreshments, each tour stop featured opportunities for high school seniors to win prizes. Four prospective students took home $1,000 scholarships at the ARC event. Other prizes awarded included two $500 housing deposits, orientation and registration discounts, and UTC-themed gear.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Saturday, Nov. 2, the Undergraduate Admissions Office hosted its annual Blue and Gold Preview Day, where 789 prospective students and their families were in attendance. The event included campus tours, an academic department fair, a student organization showcase and a residence hall open house.<\/p>\n
