WUTC FM-88.1 reached its spring membership drive and netted $141,000 dollars towards funding the radio station\u2019s programming costs. \u00a0The public radio station licensed to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is the region\u2019s source for programming from National Public Radio, including awarding winning programs like \u201cMorning Edition,\u201d\u00a0 \u201cAll Things Considered,\u201d and \u201cCar Talk.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAs always, our listeners have guaranteed a bright future for WUTC, and we are grateful,\u201d Dr. John McCormack, WUTC Station Director, said.<\/p>\n
The station recently introduced WUTC-HD2 for listeners who have HD radio receivers. This sister station provides hours of CD-quality music, plus two weekday NPR news shows.\u00a0 Fans can listen online or tune an HD radio to 88.1-1 and dial up WUTC’s second channel at 88.1-2.<\/p>\n
WUTC-HD2 features \u201cThe Diane Rehm Show\u201d on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. EST. The popular NPR program \u201cTalk Of The Nation\u201d also returns to the Chattanooga market weekdays from\u00a02 p.m. to 4 p.m.\u00a0 In addition to these news programs, WUTC-HD2 offers a wealth of eclectic music from XPoNential Radio.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe focused a lot on promoting WUTC-HD2 during our drive. We gave away HD car radios and AV receivers,\u201d said Robin Higgins, Membership Coordinator and Office Manager for WUTC.<\/p>\n
