{"id":6849,"date":"2012-05-25T15:20:55","date_gmt":"2012-05-25T19:20:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogarchive.utc.edu\/news\/?p=6849"},"modified":"2013-02-05T11:12:47","modified_gmt":"2013-02-05T15:12:47","slug":"new-software-construction-management","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogarchive.utc.edu\/news\/2012\/05\/new-software-construction-management\/","title":{"rendered":"Software donation benefits Construction Management program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The UTC Construction Management program in the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences recently received a donation from GRAPHISOFT\u2014100 licenses of the ArchiCAD Building Information Modeling (BIM) software valued at $425,000.\u00a0\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBIM is very powerful.\u00a0 Most construction companies began using it in the last five to ten years,\u201d according to Dr. Neslihan Alp, UC Foundation Professor, Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies and Research and Department Head of Engineering Management and Technology.\u00a0 \u201cIt will be crucial for our students to learn how to use it in our curriculum during their studies in the UTC Construction Management program.\u00a0 They will be much more prepared and ready for the workforce when they graduate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Construction Management is a concentration in the Engineering Technology Management (ETM) undergraduate program at UTC.
