\n6 a.m. \u2013 10 a.m– Morning Edition News <\/em><\/p>\n

10 a.m. -11a.m.– Choirs & Carols: An NPR Christmas<\/em> \u2013 hear musicians from around the world in NPR\u2019s performance studio as they share special holiday moments.\u00a0 Join host Lisa Simeone for ancient harmonies from Trio Medieval, traditional carols from the Riga Dom Boys Choir and a rarely heard Christmas song from Sibelius.\u00a0 The Pittsburgh Brass unpacks a pair of 500-pound bells to ring in the holiday.<\/p>\n

11 a.m. \u2013 12 Noon– Christmas With Morehouse & Spelman Glee Clubs<\/em> -Morehouse and Spelman Colleges \u2013 two of the most prestigious historically black institutions in the nation get together to present a spine-tingling concert program.\u00a0 This encore features the best works of the last several years.\u00a0 It is hosted by Korva Coleman.<\/p>\n

Noon-1 p.m. —Fresh Air <\/em><\/p>\n

1 p.m. \u2013 2 p.m. —Day To Day <\/em><\/p>\n

2 p.m. \u2013 3 p.m. —Tinsel Tales: NPR Christmas Favorites<\/em> – this program features stories from the NPR archives that touch on the meaning of Christmas.\u00a0 David Sedaris,\u00a0 Bailey White,\u00a0 John Henry Faulk \u2013 these and other NPR voices, past and present,\u00a0 tell stories of the season.\u00a0 It is hosted by Lynn Neary.<\/p>\n

3 p.m. \u2013 4 p.m. Christmas Around the Country 2007<\/em> – the best of classical holiday music from coast to coast hosted by Lisa Simeone.\u00a0 NPR takes you from churches to concert halls to auditoriums to town halls all across the nation in search of performances that express the best of the holiday season.<\/p>\n

4 p.m. \u2013 8 p.m. —All Things Considered <\/em><\/p>\n

8 p.m. \u2013 9 p.m. Happy Joyous Hannukah<\/em> – features a concert from NYC-based 2006 Grammy-award-winning band, The Klezmatics.\u00a0 It is hosted by Murray Horwitz.<\/p>\n

9 p.m. \u2013 10 p.m. Jazz Piano Christmas XIX<\/em> – Latin Jazz\u00a0 onstage at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for the Arts in Washington, D.C.\u00a0 This year\u2019s lineup includes Brazillian pianist and singer, Eliane Elias; Afro-Cuban jazz pianist and composer Arturo O\u2019Farrill; prolific pianist and composer Rebeca Mauleon and New Orlean\u2019s own Ellis Marsalis.<\/p>\n

10 p.m. \u2013 12 a.m. a Paul Winter Solstice Concert -the extraordinary acoustics of New York\u2019s Cathedral of St. John the Divine highlight the music of the Paul Winter Consort with Eugene Friesen,\u00a0 Paul Sullivan and Brazillian percussionist Caf\u00e9 leading us through one of the longest night of the year,\u00a0 with singer\/guitarist Renato Braz and \u201cIcarus\u201d\u00a0 double-reed man Paul McCandless.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
