Dennis Haskins, best known for his role as Richard Belding, the principal of the popular 90s television show, “Saved by the Bell,” will be visiting UTC on Thursday, September 13 at 8 p.m. in the UTC University Center Auditorium to present his “Mr. Belding on Campus” tour. Doors will open at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

There will be a question and answer session following his session. The event is free to UTC students, faculty, and staff with their Mocs Card, and $5 for the general public. Members of the community are encouraged to attend; limited seating will be available on a first come, first served basis.<\/p>\n

Haskins attended UTC and was named the 2000 Distinguished Alumnus. During his time at the University, Haskins played for one year with Mocs Basketball, was involved in the Greek system and he took theatre classes<\/p>\n

Haskins is a graduate of local Notre Dame High School.<\/p>\n

In his first Hollywood role, Haskins appeared in the first episode of “The Dukes of Hazzard.” That role led to a variety of acting credits such as “Magnum P.I.,” “The Twilight Zone,” “Amazing Stories,” “Hardcastle and McCormick,” and “The Image.” His theater performances include “Look Homeward Angel,” “Jellyroll Shoes,” “Angry Housewives,” and “That Other Woman’s Child.” It was his performance in “Angry Housewives” that led him to the role of Mr. Belding in “Saved By the Bell’s” first incarnation, “Good Morning, Miss Bliss.”<\/p>\n
