Newly elected Student Government Association (SGA) officers for 2009-2010 are: President Tyler Forrest, a junior from Athens, Tennessee; Vice President Andrew Clark, a sophomore from Manchester, Tennessee; Treasurer Brittany Justice, a junior from Gallatin, Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Tyler S. Forrest of Athens, Tennessee, has been elected president of the UTC Student Government Association (SGA). He currently serves as the student representative on The University of Tennessee Board of Trustees and he is concluding his term as UTC Student Government Association Vice President.<\/p>\n
“It is my great honor to be given the opportunity to serve as UTC’s SGA President by my fellow students. I want to use this opportunity to do a host of great things in the upcoming year. Some of those include: increased communication with the student; making SGA more visible at all functions on campus; and identifying key projects to complete that benefit all the students. Most importantly, the goal I am striving for is to listen to the concerns of all the students at UTC and effectively convey their concerns to the appropriate individuals. I’m excited about the opportunity and I can’t wait to get started,” Forrest said.<\/p>\n
Forrest has served as Chairman of the Projects Committee and Senator for the College of Business in SGA and as an inaugural member of the University of Tennessee Student Council. He is a member of the Honor Court, Mortar Board, and Chairman of the Student Conduct Board. He is past president of Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma, serves as a Chancellor\u2019s Ambassador, and he has been a member of several other University committees.<\/p>\n
Forrest has an interest in business and politics; he plans to graduate in spring 2010. He also plans to pursue an MBA degree.<\/p>\n

Andrew Clark of Manchester, Tennessee, has been elected vice-president of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Student Government Association (SGA). His major is Humanities: Health Science.<\/p>\n
Clark serves as Director of Homecoming, Orientation Specialist, Executive Orientation Leader and 2008-09 SGA Secretary. He has served as 2007-08 Freshman Senate President, Executive Director of Up ’til Dawn, Student Representative to the Perspectives Lecture Series. He is a member of the Environmental Task Force and the Publications Board.<\/p>\n
He plans to graduate in winter 2011 and plans to attend graduate school in pursuit of a master\u2019s degree in medical science. Clark plans to become a certified physician assistant and he is considering studying public health\/emergency management. He hopes to practice as a physician assistant in Coffee County, perhaps in government health. Clark also hopes to run for Mayor of Manchester, Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Brittany Justice of Gallatin, Tennessee, has been elected treasurer of SGA. The Accounting and Finance major is currently SGA Senator\u2014District IV and Social Issues Committee Chairwoman.<\/p>\n
Justice has served as Freshman Senator, Freshman Senate Community Service Committee Chairwoman and Vice Chairwoman of UTC Parking Appeals Board. She is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, she has made the Dean’s List each semester, she has been a UTC Scholar in Residence, she was named Outstanding Freshman Senator of the Year and February SGA Senator of the Month.<\/p>\n
She plans to graduate in spring 2011. She is interested in graduate work and may pursue the MBA. Her career plans are focused on an entry-level position in accounting or finance, and a future position in public service.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
