UTC Community: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook<\/strong> and Flood Watch<\/strong> until Friday, September 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM for the Chattanooga area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop today, Wednesday, September 25, 2024, and are expected to increase in intensity as the day progresses. There is currently a low risk of severe weather for today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tomorrow (9\/26\/2024), Tropical Storm Helene is expected to reach the area. Moderate to heavy rain is expected with several inches of rainfall accumulation. Beginning Thursday (9\/26\/2024) evening through Friday (9\/27\/2024) afternoon, heavy rain and strong winds are expected for parts of the Chattanooga area. Flooding is a concern, as well as the possibility of severe weather. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
