The secondary audience is tenured professors who seek to \u201crestart their research programs.\u201d\u00a0<strong>Any tenure-earning professors who started at UTC after January 1, 2019, and did not apply to the CEACSE Faculty Initiation grant in FY2019 are eligible to apply in FY2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The maximum individual award amount is $15,000, with no matching. An additional $10,000 may be proposed with a\u00a0<strong>required\u00a0<\/strong>real-dollar match of $5,000, which can be from startup funding or from the faculty member\u2019s department chair and\/or their unit\u2019s Dean with a letter of commitment to accompany the proposal submission. The maximum award is $25,000 plus $5,000 of matching.<\/p>\n<p>These funds will be awarded on a competitive basis via a review of the funding criteria below and the strategic merit of each proposal. The primary goal of this program is to<strong>\u00a0enable\u00a0<\/strong><strong>development of new capabilities and extramural projects in the area of Computational Sciences<\/strong>. Thus, any proposal that does not require significant computational modeling or simulation will be returned without review.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal submission deadline is,\u00a0<strong>\u00a0June 28, 2019<\/strong>\u00a0at 5pm Eastern Time. All submissions will be electronic.
