Our research activities focus on the development of multi-fidelity methods and physics-based models for numerical investigation of multi-physics turbulent flows. These computational tools are used for a fundamental understanding of turbulence physics and its interaction with other processes in canonical configurations, predictive capabilities for flow and associated processes in practical configurations, and simulation-driven design.

Applications of Interests: Some of the current applications of interests include turbulent flows in naval, rotorcraft, bio-medical, and environmental systems, reacting turbulent flows in energy conversion and propulsion devices, and energetic materials.

Research Interests: Some of the key research topics of interests include efficient modeling approaches for wall-bounded turbulent and transitional flows, multi-scale modeling of stratified turbulent flows, turbulence-chemistry interaction under realistic conditions, and assessment of techniques for reduced-order modeling (ROM) and uncertainty quantification (UQ) of turbulent flows.

Technical Approach: The multi-fidelity computational framework comprises of different types of techniques such as direct numerical simulation (DNS), large-eddy simulation (LES), hybrid multi-scale models, intrusive and non-intrusive ROM and UQ approaches being used in conjunction with the rapidly evolving high-performance computing (HPC) platforms.

Announcement: There are open positions within my research group for PhD students.
