Angela Dittmar, Tiffany Edwards, and Laurie Allen (Arts-Based Collaborative) have received $425 from the City of Chattanooga for the project entitled, “Arts Integration Workshop for City of Chattanooga Early Head Start and Head Start Faculty.”<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Lucien Ellington (School of Education) has requested and received $2,000 from The Jack Miller Center for Teaching America’s Founding Principles and History for the project entitled, “2021 Constitution Day Lecture.”<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Drs. Zibin Guo, Darrell Walsh, (Social, Cultural, and Justice Studies) and Elizabeth Hathaway (Health and Human Performance) have received $139,823 from the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs for the project entitled, “2021-2022 Wheelchair Adaptive Tai Chi Chuan.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Ashley Howell (Psychology) has requested and received $2,000 from the Psi Chi, International Honor Society in Psychology for the project entitled, “Associations Among Fear Generalization, Executive Functioning, Racial Attitudes, Racial Trauma, and other Cultural Variables in Southern Appalachia.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Deborah McAllister (School of Education) in collaboration with Vanderbilt University has received $35,555 from NASA Headquarters Washington DC for the project entitled, “Elementary and Middle Grades STEM.”<\/p>\n

Jonathan McNair (Music) has requested and received an individual award from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico for the project entitled, “Individual artist residency for creative work at the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation in Taos, New Mexico.”<\/p>\n

Charles Mix (IGTLab) has received $2,606 from the Limestone Valley Resource Conservation and Development Council for the project entitled, “GIS Conservation Priority Modeling for the Cartecay River Watershed.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Daniel Pack (College of Engineering & Computer Science) has requested and received $100,000 from the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation for the project entitled, “Minority Engineering Scholarships.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Donald Reising (Electrical Engineering) has received $97,695 from Tennessee Valley Authority for the project entitled, “Learning from Power Signals.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Joey Shaw (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science) has requested and received $9,000 from the Association of Southeastern Biologists (ASB) for the project entitled, “Wildflower Pilgrimage Graduate Assistant.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Joey Shaw (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science) in collaboration with Austin Peay State University (APSU) has requested and received $27,150 from the U.S. National Park Service for the project entitled, “Evaluate Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area Grasslands for Recreational & Ecological Values to Improve Management Efficacy.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Laura Tyndall, Dr. Linda Hill, Rachael Nall (School of Nursing) and Dr. Lani Gao (Mathematics) have received $9,470 from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Foundation for the project entitled, “The Effect of a Novel Single-Use Intra-Operative Taping System on Rates of Healthcare-Acquired Infections.”<\/p>\n

James Bradshaw (Rollins College of Business) and Catherine Middleton (Rollins College of Business) have requested $125,907 from Appalachian Regional Commission for the project entitled, “UTC ARC Appalachian Entrepreneurial Academy.”<\/p>\n

Michael Danquah, Jejal Bathi, Brad Harris, Sungwoo Yang (Civil and Chemical Engineering), Yunye Shi, Dalei Wu (Computer Science and Engineering) and Henry Spratt (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science) have requested $401,141 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “Interdisciplinary enGineeRing for EnvironmEntal sustaiNability (iGREEN).”<\/p>\n
