Please note that ORSP and ORI will be largely unavailable during the event so our response times may be delayed.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On&nbsp;<strong>Thursday, October 12,&nbsp;<\/strong>the&nbsp;<strong>UTC Research Institute<\/strong>&nbsp;will host a Brown Bag session on High Performance Computing Resources and On-Demand Resources. The event will be held in the UTC Library Room 435 from 12:30 \u2013 2pm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Friday,<strong>&nbsp;October 22, 2023<\/strong>&nbsp;will be the last day that the NSF fillable PDF format for the biosketch and current and pending support can be uploaded and submitted in research.gov. For proposals due October 23, 2023 or after, investigators must use&nbsp;<strong>SciENcv<\/strong>&nbsp;to prepare the biosketch and CPS forms. Having trouble getting set up in SciENcv? Help guides are available on ORSP\u2019s webpage&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.utc.edu\/research\/research-and-sponsored-programs\/pre-award-services\/sciencv-guide\">here<\/a><\/strong>. You can also schedule a consultation with a grant specialist&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/outlook.office365.com\/owa\/calendar\/UTCORSPFacultyConsultations@live.utk.edu\/bookings\/\">here<\/a><\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Important note for NSF-funded PIs:<\/strong>&nbsp;NSF is piloting a new enforcement policy to increase the timeliness of performance reports.&nbsp;NSF award terms and conditions require PIs to submit annual project reports 90-days&nbsp;PRIOR&nbsp;to the end of the annual budget period. Reports are considered overdue if they are not&nbsp;approved&nbsp;by the cognizant&nbsp;NSF&nbsp;program officer by this date. Under the new enforcement policy pilot, funds will be temporarily withheld from PIs with reports that are 60 days or more overdue. The pilot currently only impacts a select number of projects (affected PIs have been notified), and the trial period runs through January 31, 2024. If NSF elects to implement the policy in full, however, this will impact all NSF-funded PIs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Because the PI is solely responsible for the implementation of a sponsored project at UTC, ORSP urges all PIs (regardless of sponsor) to intentionally build reporting deadlines into their project schedules to ensure compliance with award terms.&nbsp;Please contact our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.utc.edu\/research\/research-and-sponsored-programs\/staff\">Award Services<\/a>&nbsp;team with any questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Funding Opportunities<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>NSF has released a new solicitation for the&nbsp;<strong>Organismal Response to Climate Change&nbsp;<\/strong>program, seeking convergent research proposals (i.e., cross-disciplinary approaches) to investigate and improve predictions for organismal responses to climate change. The full solicitation is available&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/new.nsf.gov\/funding\/opportunities\/organismal-response-climate-change-orcc\">here<\/a><\/strong>. Two categories of proposals are solicited: (1) research projects that investigate how professional formation is developed in groups\/individuals and (2) design &amp; development projects that implement and evaluate new approaches to achieving professional formation. The full solicitation is available&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/new.nsf.gov\/funding\/opportunities\/research-formation-engineers-rfe-0\">here<\/a><\/strong>.
