Program Officers will discuss what they learned as they transitioned from PI to NSF PO, proposal tips and tricks, and common misconceptions. Read more about the event and register&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/new.nsf.gov\/events\/deb-virtual-office-hour-things-i-wish-i-learned\">here<\/a><\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Life Science TN<\/strong>&nbsp;is hosting a Beer&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;Biotech&nbsp;event at Axis Research &amp; Technologies facility in&nbsp;Chattanooga on&nbsp;<strong>August 17<\/strong>&nbsp;from 4-6pm. This event brings together life science professionals across academia and industry. Read more about the event and&nbsp;register&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesciencetn.org\/beer-biotech-chattanooga-august-17\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/strong>&nbsp;The event is free for LST members and prospective members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On&nbsp;<strong>September 21-22<\/strong>,<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>UTC will be hosting a UT-wide colloquium for research administration personnel. Please note that ORSP and ORI will be working intermittently during the event so our response times may be delayed.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Funding Opportunities<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ORSP is accepting Notices of Intent for two&nbsp;<strong>limited submission programs<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>FY24 NEA Grants for Arts Projects<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; Read more about the program&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arts.gov\/grants\/grants-for-arts-projects\/program-description\">here<\/a><\/strong>. UTC is limited to&nbsp;1 proposal per year. If you are interested in being considered for selection for the 2024 competition, you must submit an NOI via InfoReady by no later than&nbsp;<strong>Friday, September 8<\/strong>. Examples include novel theories for hard and soft materials and materials-related phenomena; associated analytical, computational, and data-centric techniques; and predictive materials-specific theory, simulation, and modeling. Any project personnel having direct contact with minors (including UTC students) must undergo a background check prior to engaging in program activities.
