UTC defines&nbsp;\u201coff-campus research\u201das the&nbsp;collection&nbsp;of data, information, or samples taking place in a building or geographic area that is&nbsp;NOT&nbsp;owned by UT, any of UT\u2019s subsidiaries, or by any named partner for a specific project.&nbsp; A template for the SAI Plan and a decision tool are available on ORSP\u2019s webpage&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.utc.edu\/research\/research-and-sponsored-programs\/nsf-proposals\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Funding Opportunities<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>REMINDER&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>\u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>The&nbsp;<strong>NSF CAREER&nbsp;<\/strong>program is open to Assistant Professors whose research aligns with NSF\u2019s funding areas. The program requires a well integrated plan for research and education activities over the next five years. Prior funding does not necessarily disqualify you from applying. An eligible PI may submit only one CAREER proposal per annual competition and participate in no more than 3 competitions total. Similar to past years, UTC is limited to&nbsp;<strong>two (2)<\/strong>&nbsp;Track 1 proposals (for instruments costing between $100,000 and $1.4 million) and&nbsp;<strong>one (1)<\/strong>&nbsp;Track 2 proposal (for instruments costing $1.4 million to $4 million). Additionally this year, we can submit&nbsp;<strong>one (1)<\/strong>&nbsp;additional application to Track 3, for instrumentation related to the reduction of helium consumption. HNDS has two tracks:&nbsp;<strong>(1) Infrastructure<\/strong>&nbsp;proposals (due<strong>&nbsp;Aug 3, 2023<\/strong>) to address the development of data resources and relevant analytic techniques that support fundamental Social, Behavioral and Economic (SBE) research.&nbsp;Note:&nbsp;An individual may be listed as a PI or co-PI on only one Infrastructure proposal per year.&nbsp;<strong>(2) Core research<\/strong>&nbsp;proposals (due&nbsp;<strong>July 13, 2023<\/strong>) to advance theory in a core SBE discipline by the application of data and network science methods. The SoS:BIO program supports high-quality research to provide scientific analysis of important aspects of the biomedical research enterprise and efforts to foster a diverse, innovative, productive and efficient scientific workforce from which future scientific leaders will emerge. PO contact prior to proposal submission is strongly encouraged. The program has two upcoming deadlines:&nbsp;<strong>September 11, 2023<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>February 9, 2024<\/strong>. Please let ORSP know if you are interested in submitting a proposal to this program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The<strong>&nbsp;UT Research Foundation Accelerator Fund<\/strong>&nbsp;will support new startups based on UT-generated intellectual property. Investments will range from $20,000 to $150,000.
