Archives of previous updates are available on ORSP\u2019s&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogarchive.utc.edu\/research-sponsored-programs\/?_gl=1*13j6jni*_gcl_au*MjEyMjAwODQ3NS4xNzA0MzcyODk2\">blog<\/a><\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Announcements&nbsp;<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Beginning&nbsp;<strong>May 20, 2024<\/strong>, NSF and other federal agencies will begin requiring each key\/senior personnel who participate in a proposal\/project to certify that they \u201care not a party to a&nbsp;<strong>malign foreign talent recruitment program<\/strong>\u201d at the time of proposal submission, during just-in-time requests before an award is made, and at each annual project report during an award period. Any individual who cannot provide such a certification will be ineligible from participating on federally sponsored projects. The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) defines a \u201cmalign foreign talent recruitment program\u201d in&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/OSTP-Foreign-Talent-Recruitment-Program-Guidelines.pdf\">this document<\/a><\/strong>. Human inventors can use AI tools but must make a significant contribution to the conception of the claimed invention for it to be patentable.
