We wish everyone a happy Fourth and look forward to reconnecting with you on Friday, July 5.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Reminders&nbsp;<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The UTC Research Institute has announced a&nbsp;<strong>call for concept papers<\/strong>&nbsp;to invest at least one new interdisciplinary focus area. Concept papers are due&nbsp;<strong>July 15, 2024<\/strong>. Learn more and apply&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tennessee.infoready4.com\/#competitionDetail\/1938888\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Limited Submission Competitions<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following programs have a limited submission requirement. ORSP is accepting Notices of Intent to determine if an internal selection competition is necessary. Interested tenure-track faculty are required to participate in the internal selection and nomination process. Non-tenure-track or non-teaching staff members are eligible to apply to this program without participating in the nomination process.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Other Funding Opportunities<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are interested in applying to any of the opportunities below, please notify ORSP at least&nbsp;<strong>4-6 weeks<\/strong>&nbsp;in advance of the deadline. Additional deadlines February 16, 2025 and June 16, 2025.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Sponsored Projects Policy Spotlight<\/u><\/strong><strong>: Overlap on Current and Pending Support Forms<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The federal templates for current and pending support forms require PIs to describe any known or potential overlap with the proposed project for each current or pending project listed in the form. This applies at both the proposal and reporting stages. NIH has provided a handy breakdown\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.niaid.nih.gov\/grants-contracts\/dont-overlook-three-types-overlap\">here<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of the three types of overlap you should report: scientific overlap, budgetary overlap, and commitment overlap. While the discussion is focused on NIH, the guidance can be generally applied to other federal sponsors.
