Archives of previous updates are available on ORSP\u2019s&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogarchive.utc.edu\/research-sponsored-programs\/?_gl=1*13j6jni*_gcl_au*MjEyMjAwODQ3NS4xNzA0MzcyODk2\">blog<\/a><\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Research&nbsp;&nbsp;Development and Networking Opportunities<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Office of the VCR and ORSP are planning a&nbsp;site visit and networking opportunity&nbsp;with researchers at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the UT &#8211; Oak Ridge Innovation Institute in 2025. If you\u2019re interested in participating, please complete this&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tennessee.infoready4.com\/#freeformCompetitionDetail\/1954400\">brief survey<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;by&nbsp;<strong>November 8<\/strong>&nbsp;to help us select an optimal date and plan activities of interest to you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Office of the VCR and ORSP are collaborating with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tigdc.com\/\">The Implementation Group<\/a>&nbsp;(TIG) to provide opportunities for PIs to receive feedback on their proposals early in the development process. TIG will review a 1-page summary of your project and meet with you to discuss your project plan.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tennessee.infoready4.com\/#freeformCompetitionDetail\/1955080\">Submit your 1-page summary<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;by&nbsp;<strong>December 18<\/strong>, for a review session with TIG in January. This cycle is ideal for proposals with sponsor deadlines on or after March 1, 2025. Individuals who are planning a proposal to the 2025&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/new.nsf.gov\/funding\/opportunities\/career-faculty-early-career-development-program\">NSF CAREER program<\/a>&nbsp;are&nbsp;STRONGLY&nbsp;encouraged to participate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Launch Tennessee is hosting a virtual workshop entitled \u201cNavigating SBIR\/STTR for TN University Researchers\u201d on&nbsp;<strong>October 30<\/strong>&nbsp;from 2-4pm.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/launchtennessee-bloom.kindful.com\/e\/navigating-sbirsttr-rules-for-university-researchers-webinar\">RSVP here<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;with your university email to secure your spot.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The next&nbsp;Meetup for Researchers&nbsp;will be held on&nbsp;<strong>November 8<\/strong>&nbsp;at 11am in the Southern Writers Room (440) UTC Library. This month\u2019s speakers include guests from the UT Research Foundation and Dr. Tom Lyons, who will be talking about the MOC Innovate Mini-Grant Competition for 2025.&nbsp;Register&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/uciA0Uujmj\">here<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;to attend.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Sponsor Announcements<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>NSF will begin requiring&nbsp;multifactor authentication&nbsp;to log into&nbsp;research.gov&nbsp;on&nbsp;<strong>October 27<\/strong>. Training resources including how-to guides and frequently asked questions (FAQs) will be available on the new About Signing Into&nbsp;Research.gov&nbsp;page on&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.research.gov\/research-web\/content\/Rgovhelp\">Research.gov Help<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;on that date.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The US Dept of Energy is accepting applications from faculty for the&nbsp;Summer 2025 Visting Faculty Program&nbsp;through&nbsp;<strong>January 8, 2025<\/strong>. This is an individual award and does not need to be routed through ORSP.
