We wish everyone a nice holiday weekend and look forward to reconnecting with you on Tuesday, May 27.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The internal selection competition for the&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/funding\/opportunities\/mri-major-research-instrumentation-program\">NSF MRI program<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;is drawing to a close. Submit your internal proposal via&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tennessee.infoready4.com\/#applicationGrid\/1970259\">InfoReady Review<\/a>&nbsp;by&nbsp;<strong>May 29&nbsp;<\/strong>to be considered for this year\u2019s competition. See ORSP\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.utc.edu\/research\/research-and-sponsored-programs\/pre-award-services\/funding-opportunities\/infoready-review\">webpage<\/a>&nbsp;for help guides and other InfoReady resources.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>DASH Research IRB<\/strong>, a new Institutional Review Board system from the Huron Research Suite, will launch in July 2025. If you have a study that has an expiration date in June or July that you wish to continue past that end date, the IRB strongly recommends that you submit a Form B, Request for Changes, by<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Saturday, May 31<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>to avoid any issues with getting approval before the study expires. See&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.utc.edu\/research\/research-integrity\/institutional-review-board\">ORI\u2019s webpage<\/a>&nbsp;for the full cutover timeline.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Most federal agencies now require investigators to have a&nbsp;<strong>Persistent Identifier (PID)<\/strong>. Setting up an ORCID iD is the easiest way to meet this requirement. This applies at both the proposal and reporting stages. NIH has provided a handy breakdown&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.niaid.nih.gov\/grants-contracts\/dont-overlook-three-types-overlap\">here<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;of the three types of overlap you should report: scientific overlap, budgetary overlap, and commitment overlap. While the discussion is focused on NIH, the guidance can be generally applied to other federal sponsors.
