Ms. Twyler Boykin<\/strong> (Center for Community Career Education) has received $263,938 from the US Department of Education for the project entitled, “Upward Bound Math & Science.”<\/p>\n

Ms. Sandra Cole<\/strong> (Center for Community Career Education) has received $99,984 from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission for the project entitled, “Each One Reach One.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Lucien Ellington<\/strong>\u00a0and Dr. Jeffrey Melnik<\/strong> (School of Education) have received $75,214 from the Charles Koch Foundation for the project entitled, “2017-2018 Center for Reflective Citizenship Programs.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Yancy Freeman<\/strong> (Enrollment Services) has received $19,018 from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission for the project entitled, “UTC Veteran Reconnect.”<\/p>\n

Ms. Shirl Gholston<\/strong> (Center for Community Career Education) has received $300,620 from the US Department of Education for the project entitled, “Student Support Services FY16-FY21.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Hunter Huckabay<\/strong> (Center for Community Career Education) has received $308,244 from the US Department of Education for the project entitled, “GEAR UP in Hamilton County, TN 2011-2018.”<\/p>\n

Ms. Cynthia Long<\/strong> (Center for Community Career Education) has received $277,711 from the US Department of Education for the project entitled, “Southern Appalachian Educational Opportunity Center.”<\/p>\n

Ms. Laurie Melnik<\/strong> (Southeast Center for Education) has received $11,000 from the Hunter Museum of American Art for the project entitled, “Art of Balance and Diagnosis.”<\/p>\n

Dr. James Newman<\/strong> (SIM Center) has received $24,976 from Pointwise Inc. for the project entitled, “High Fidelity Mesh and Geometry Tools.”<\/p>\n

Dr. James Newman<\/strong> (SIM Center) has received $14,948 from The National Institute of Aerospace Associates for the project entitled, “Revolutionary Computational Aerosciences (RCA) Institute Support: Visitors and Faculty Engagement.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Henry Spratt<\/strong> (Biology) has received $40,040 from the Cumberland Trail Conference for the project entitled, “Cumberland Trail Conference Connector Program.”<\/p>\n

Ms. Karen Vann<\/strong> (Center for Community Career Education) has received $246,000 from the US Department of Education for the project entitled, “Talent Search.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Li Yang<\/strong> (Computer Science) has received $39,750 from Prairie View A & M University for the project entitled, “Capacity Building on Privacy Education through Curriculum Development.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Li Yang<\/strong> (Computer Science) and Dr. Karen Adsit<\/strong> (School of Education) have received $149,898 from the National Security Agency Central Security Service for the project entitled, “Developing Web Security Modules with Visualization and Hands-on Labs.”<\/p>\n

The following UTC faculty and staff members submitted proposals for the potential to generate over $5,008,910 <\/strong>in external funding, if awarded: <\/em><\/p>\n

Dr. Neslihan Alp<\/strong> (Engineering Management & Technology), Dr. Karen Adsit<\/strong> (School of Education), Dr. Amanda Clark<\/strong> (Psychology), Dr. Louie Elliot<\/strong> (Mechanical Engineering), and Dr. Trevor Elliott<\/strong> (Mechanical Engineering) have requested $1,005,619 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “Real-world Additive Manufacturing Projects for Underrepresented Participants (RAMP UP).”<\/p>\n

Mr. Andrew Carroll<\/strong> and Mr. Charles Mix <\/strong>(Vice Chancellor for Research) have requested $22,214 from the Mainspring Conservation Trust for the project entitled, “Mainspring Conservation Trust – Application Development.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Jennifer Ellis<\/strong> (School of Education) and Dr. Manuel Santiago<\/strong> (Chemistry and Physics) have requested $1,447,293 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “Track 1: UTChattanooga STEM Education Noyce Scholarship Program.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Pamela Guess<\/strong> (School Psychology) has requested $799,999 from the Tennessee Department of Education for the project entitled, “School Psychology Intern Program.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Thomas Loveless<\/strong> (Electrical Engineering), Dr. Raga Ahmed<\/strong> (Electrical Engineering), Dr. Louie Elliot <\/strong>(Mechanical Engineering), Dr. Aldo McLean<\/strong> (Engineering Management & Technology), and Dr. Donald Reising <\/strong>(Electrical Engineering) have requested $359,783 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “REU Site: An Interdisciplinary CubeSat Research and STEM Education Platform at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTChattSat).”<\/p>\n
