Lydia and Meredith both received an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utc.edu\/research\/undergraduate-research-and-creative-endeavor\/conference-support-award\">Office for URaCE Conference Registration Support award<\/a> to present their research projects at the 2025 Annual Meeting of the <a>Association of Southeastern Biologists <\/a>on March 12, 2025, in Myrtle Beach, SC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lydia Byerly (biology) presented the project <em>Natural Intelligence in Slime Mold Physarum Polycephalum<\/em> Meredith Grant (biology) presented the project <em>Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) can alter the killing effects of antimicrobial peptides in Vibrio cholerae<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March 21, 2025 Congratulations to the following students and their faculty mentor, Dr. David Giles!
